I have been going to dialysis treatment for three years. In addition to the difficulty of having to go get treatment three times a week, I have a huge problem getting transportation to and from my appointments.
Often KVCAP forgets to pick me up and I have to call a taxi. This is a big burden as I live on Social Security Disability and have very little money after I’ve paid my bills.
I don’t have a choice. My treatment keeps me alive. I don’t understand why the transportation people can’t be more reliable — how after all this time they claim to forget me. This causes me so much stress that there are time I don’t feel like going on.
Augusta has been declared an age-friendly city. But to tell you the truth, at times it does not feel very friendly to me.
