RANGELEY — Kyle LaRochelle got the individual highlight, but it was the Buckfield boys basketball team that got the win.

LaRochelle scored his 1,000th career point Friday night, but Rangeley fell to Buckfield, 53-45, in an East/West Conference matchup.

LaRochelle reached the milestone on his way to a game-high 26 points, hitting four 3-pointers in the process. Kenny Thompson added seven points and Leo Perez had six for the Lakers, who fell to 7-4.

Ethan Jackson had 21 points to lead the way for Buckfield (4-6), which led 31-22 at halftime and put Rangeley away from there. Zack Grover had 15 points and Noah Wiley added 12 for the Bucks.

WASHINGTON 56, WATERVILLE 55 (OT): Washington Academy scored nine points in overtime to take the Class B win in Waterville.

The teams were tied 26-26 at the half. Nicholas Wildhaber scored 22 points for Waterville (0-11), while Ben Danner added 13 points for the Purple Panthers. Washington Academy improved to 8-3.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 42, TEMPLE ACADEMY 39: Nicholas Blaisdell scored 12 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Bereans, who fell to the Guardians in Waterville.

Ilija Ivkovic added nine points for Temple (3-6).

Jet Archer and Marlin Bernardo each scored 11 points for Seacoast Christian (6-3).

BOOTHBAY 66, MADISON 51: Evan Bess scored 18 points, but the Bulldogs fell to the Seahawks in an MVC game in Boothbay.

Sean Whalen and Erci Wescott each added 11 points for Madison (4-5).

Hunter Crocker scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds for Boothbay (6-4).

HALL-DALE 74, LISBON 36: Ashtyn Abbott scored 25 points to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Lisbon.

Abbott also had eight rebounds and four steals, while Alec Byron added 17 points, Jett Boyer scored 12 and Tyler Nadeau scored six for Hall-Dale (10-0).

Jonah Sautter scored 13 points and Sean Scott added 11 for the Greyhounds (6-4). Scott hit three 3-pointers for Lisbon.

CARRABEC 45, MT. ABRAM 36: Alex Stafford scored 15 points to lead the way for the Cobras, who hung on for the MVC win in Salem.

Dylan Willette and Evan Holzworth scored 14 points apiece for Carrabec (3-9), which jumped out to a 28-7 lead before Mt. Abram, on the strength of six straight Kenyan Pillsbury steals, started to rally. The Roadrunners whittled the advantage down to 36-33 with three minutes left before the Cobras (10 for 14 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter) iced the win from the foul line.

Nate Luce scored 12 points and Sam Storer had 10 for Mt. Abram (1-10).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

TEMPLE 56, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 38: Deleyni Carr scored 19 points to lead the Temple Academy girls basketball team to victory in an East/West game in Waterville on Friday

Temple (5-5) broke the game open with a 22-12 run in the fourh quarter. Selain Heinrich added 17 points in the win for the Bereans.

Cadence Robbins led Sthe Guardians (6-4) with 15 points.

RANGELEY 78, BUCKFIELD 16: Natasha Haley scored 23 points to lead the Lakers to a win over the Bucks in Rangeley.

Brooke Egan scored 20 points and had seven steals for Rangeley (9-2). Lauren Eastlack and Ellah Smith each grabbed six rebounds for the Lakers.

Deja Bennett and Thea Quick each scored four points for Buckfield (1-9).

MONMOUTH 77, CARRABEC 24: Tia Day scored 12 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Mustangs to an MVC win over the Cobras in North Anson.

Abby Ferland scored 15 points for Monmouth (10-1), while Kaeti Butterfield added 14 points for the Mustangs.

Sky Welch led Carrabec (4-6) with seven points.
