Traffic is being detoured Thursday and Friday this week from Route 127 in Dresden as a damaged culvert is being repaired.

The culvert is between the intersections of Route 197 and Indian Road, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Transportation. The detour is about 3.8 miles long and will bring travelers to Route 128, which runs parallel to Route 127 but closer to the Kennebec River.

Maine DOT is making the emergency repair after the culvert’s inlet collapsed. Officials expect the work to be completed Friday.
