Our president is determined to revive the coal mining industry despite rising sea levels caused by global warming.

Our state government is going ahead with construction of a large new state office building in Augusta to be heated with fossil fuels.

And the city of Hallowell is building a brand new fire station to be heated with fossil fuels on a site with great solar potential.

National, state and local governments should be in the vanguard of demonstrating the practicality of constructing energy-neutral buildings. Instead, we are going full speed ahead, with our eyes fixed firmly on the rearview mirror.
