How do people like the town manager of Jackman and your governor get placed in positions of power in your great state? Maine is the state of my mother’s people and has always occupied a special place in my memory and heart. What terrible things have happened to Maine, what threats have arisen, that your residents would elect such people?
Your state has always represented the finest traditions of environmental preservation and hardy individualism tempered with compassion and tolerance. Because of your historical reliance on a few industries, your past has been a precarious one characterized by neighbor helping neighbor, self-reliance and inclusiveness.
