State police said Trooper James MacDonald noticed safety violations on an SUV operated by Gregory Cote, 25, and tried to pull him over on Beech Street Thursday night.
When Cote sped off, MacDonald chased him for three miles before forcing his vehicle off the road.
Cote complained of back pain after the crash, but he was cleared of injuries at a hospital before being booked into the York County Jail, state police said. A female passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
According to police, Cote had a suspended driver’s license and admitted to having used methamphetamine earlier in the night.
In addition to eluding police, Cote is also being held for several probation violations.
