A section of Route 22 in Scarborough was closed for several hours Thursday morning while crews replaced a utility pole that was damaged in a crash.

A sedan hit a telephone pole near the Scarborough Corner intersection of Route 22, also known as County Road, and Broadturn Road. The crash happened before 7 a.m. when a 2012 Mazda 6 struck the utility pole, said Scarborough Police Sgt. Rick Rouse.

The drive was not injured, Rouse said.
