A tractor-trailer got stuck on Franklin Street in Portland on Thursday morning and caused a delay during the morning commute.
Portland police Lt. Robert Martin said the 18-wheeler spun on ice in the inbound lane near Interstate 295. The call came in at about 8:30 a.m.
Because the tractor-trailer blocked both lanes of traffic between Marginal Way and Cumberland Avenue, cars coming off I-295 at Exit 7 were backed up.
Martin said staff from the city Department of Public Works brought sand and salt to the scene. It took about 45 minutes to free the tractor-trailer.
Traffic was flowing normally by 9:15 a.m.
