It surprises everyone that the Russians (“13 Russians face charges in 2016 election meddling,” Feb. 17) were meddling in the 2016 election? Do you really think that foreign countries haven’t done this in the past to unwitting and naive Americans?
Over the past 50-plus years, the U.S. has meddled many times in foreign elections to influence the outcome. We’ve also actively participated to “remove” foreign leaders and replace them with our own.
What the Russians did is not right or acceptable, but now we’re surprised and upset that the Russians did this to us?
