I’m voting for Kathi Wall and Ernst Merkens for Select Board in the coming Belgrade election. Both are are excellent people with backgrounds that will enhance the board. Merkens has been a board member for the last year, and deserves a three-year term. He has been active and interested in the town and will continue to serve the town well.

Kathi Wall has been on committees, chaired committees, and been an excellent and interested citizen in Belgrade. She has innovative ideas, and excellent people skills. She’ll be a selectperson who will work for the betterment of Belgrade.

Both of these excellent candidates are running unopposed, and probably don’t need someone to write a letter of recommendation. But both do need recognition for wanting to work for the town on the Select Board. Please join me in going to the polls and voting for these two excellent people. They deserve your votes.

Also, I attended the Belgrade “Meet the Candidates” session on March 7, and was especially impressed by Jordan Stolt. This businesswoman is interested in the town, interested in making things work better, and brings youth to the Select Board that would be welcome. The town needs new ideas and fresh perspectives. Stolt will bring that.

Stolt is smart, feels strongly that Belgrade needs to attract more young people, and has the ability to present her ideas to the public in a way that makes sense to those listening. The town needs those ideas, and certainly needs young people involved in town governance. She is a breath of fresh air and deserves to be on the Select Board. I’ll vote for her and hope that citizens of Belgrade will do the same.
