A truck carrying Amazon packages rolled over in Limington Monday morning, spilling fuel and transmission fluid on Sokokis Trail.
A Ryder rental box truck driven by 24-year-old Predrag Manjerovic of Washington state crashed around 5:20 a.m. on Sokokis Trail near Brackett’s Orchard. Sheriff Bill King said Manjerovic crossed the center line and over-corrected, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
Manjerovic was delivering packages for Amazon and the truck was loaded with merchandise, King said. About five gallons of fuel and transmission fluid leaked onto the snow-covered ground.
Manjerovic was not injured and was able to free himself from the truck following the crash.
King said the road is passable, but will be closed while the truck is removed. King asked drivers to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
The Limingon and Limerick fire departments responded to the crash. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection was also called to the scene because of the fuel spill.
The Limington Fire Department last week was ordered to “stand down” from responding to fires because of outdated gear, but town officials say the department will still respond to medical calls.
