AUGUSTA — The 17th annual Chili Chowder Challenge is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Augusta Armory, 179 Western Ave.

The fun-filled, family oriented event draws a crowd eager to vote on their favorite chilies and chowders from 12 to 15 local restaurants and caterers. In addition to the culinary competition, which allows local chefs to compete for recognition in several categories, the event includes children’s crafts, a silent auction and music.

The event is a fundraiser for the Children’s Center.

For more information, contact Katelyn Pushard, director of development and quality improvement at the Children’s Center, at 626-3497, ext. 125, or kpushard@childrensctr.org or visit childrensctr.org.
