President Dwight Eisenhower warned of military expansion. He warned an arms race would take resources from bridges, hospitals and schools. In his last speech, he said, “In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwanted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”
Now the NRA wants to arm every citizen in the country. I believe ammo should be rationed just like in the service.
The south of the good old USA has acquired most of the military bases and war complex of the country. They probably receive more revenue than they pay in taxes. That’s when you want to be conservative; you want to conserve what you’re getting. It’s wrong to spend more money on military and not help people that need heating fuel.
