Veteran relief pitcher Craig Breslow has been assigned to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats roster, the team announced Monday morning.

Breslow, 37, signed a minor league contract with Toronto in February. With a 6.14 ERA in 10 exhibition outings, Breslow failed to make the major league club. New Hampshire is the Double-A affiliate of the Blue Jays.

The Fisher Cats announced that other familiar names – sons of former major leaguers – will be joining the team: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio.

Guerrero Jr., ranked third among all minor league prospects, by Baseball America, is a third baseman. Only 19, he signed with Toronto three years ago for $3.9-million. His father is Hall-of-Famer Vladimir Guerrero.

Bichette, 20, is the son of Dante Bichette. A shortstop, Bo Bichette is the eighth-best prospect, according to Baseball America.

Biggio, 22, is the son of another Hall-of-Famer, Craig Biggio. Like his dad, Biggio is a second-baseman. He was a fifth-round draft pick in 2016, out of the University of Notre Dame.

Breslow, a native of New Haven, Connecticut, pitched for the Red Sox from 2012-15. Since, he’s been with the Marlin in 2016, and both the Twins and Indians last year (a combined 5.09 ERA in 2017).

Breslow will be in his home state for the Fisher Cats opener this weekend, in Hartford. New Hampshire will not play in Portland until July 12.

The Red Sox have yet to announce Portland’s roster for 2018.
