GORHAM — Kayleigh Bohan had a bases-clearing double to highlight a four-run fifth inning as the University of Southern Maine rolled to a 9-1 win over the University of New England in Game 1 of a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday.

Bohan went 3 for 3 with four RBI for the Huskies (12-11), Courtney Davis was 3 for 4, while Erin Martin, Brittany Plowman and Brooke Cross each added a pair of hits.

Amber Kelly allowed one run on three hits for USM, striking out six and walking three.

In the second game, the Huskies scored a pair of runs in the second inning and held on for a 2-1 win.

Sam Dreissig knocked in Alexis Kapsambellis in the top of the third for UNE (10-8) on a fielder’s choice.

THOMAS 5, COLBY 2: Lexi Colpack went 3 for 4 with a triple and double and two RBI as the the Terriers (10-11) handled the host Mules (1-15) at Waterville.

BASEBALL

ENDICOTT 5, ST. JOSEPH’S 4: Hunter Boyce lined a one-out single to drive in Kyle Brennan with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Gulls (15-3) edged the Monks (16-6) in a non-conference game at Beverly, Massachusetts.

Joey Murphy opened the scoring for St Joseph’s with an RBI single to score Jared Gagne in the top of the fourth. Endicott took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

Gagne gave the Monks the lead with a two-run single in the fifth, but the Gulls countered with two runs in bottom of the inning. St. Joseph’s pulled even in the top of the eighth on a Chris Gerossie sacrifice fly.

COLBY 13, THOMAS 1: William Wesseman was 2 for 4 with three RBI to lead the 15-hit attack as the Mules (4-11) rolled past the visiting Terriers (2-16) at Waterville.

NORTHERN ESSEX CC 9, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 3: Riley Magee went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI and scored three runs as the Knights (11-9) beat the Seawolves (16-12) in a non-conference game at South Portland.

Timothy Greenlaw led SMCC, going 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

REGIS 7, ST. JOSEPH’S 6: Brooke Ross scored an unassisted goal, her third of the game, 5:23 into overtime as the Pride (8-3, 4-2 Great Northeast Athletic) edged the Monks (8-3, 4-2) at Weston, Massachusetts.

Elyse Caiazzo led St. Joseph’s with three goals, while Kayla Kelly added two.

Maresa Malcolm turned aside 11 shots for the Pride, Kaylin Mansir stopped five shots for the Monks.

SOUTHERN MAINE 22, HUSSON 9: The Huskies (4-6) opened a 10-2 lead at the first intermission, powered by three goals by Paul Leonardo, and rolled by the visiting Eagles (3-7) at Gorham.

Tristan Dundas scored five goals for Southern Maine while Leonard had four goals and three assists.

Zach Bessette stopped six shots for USM.
