Jake Shimabukuro will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., Rockland.

Shimabukuro is credited with starting the recent “Uke Boom” due to his innovation, advocacy and enthusiasm for the instrument. Known for his fast and complex finger work, his music combines elements of jazz, blues, funk, rock, bluegrass, classical, folk and flamenco.
