Last year, when a resolution was on the agenda that would have limited the discourse allowed at City Council meetings, I went to the meeting and spoke against it. I was also speaking up against a close and dear friend of mine, Councilor Jackie Dupont.

It was my firm belief that the resolution went against the values of our city, much like I know Mayor Nick Isgro’s history of comments are not in line with the values we embrace as a city.

We all know it takes a lot of courage simply to speak up — and we all know it takes a great deal more courage to speak up against our friends. It is my deepest and sincerest hope that friends and supporters of Nick Isgro can find the deep courage needed to speak against him and the values his comments reflect.
