Dennis Ayala, 55, was arrested by members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Wilton Police Department for aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, a Class A felony.

On Sunday, April 15, it was reported that the Wyman Twp. man had died from a narcotic overdose. State Police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency were notified, and Detective Stephen Charles of the FCSO continued the investigation.

According to authorities, he developed leads as to where the drugs may have come from, and as part of the investigation obtained a search warrant of a residence on the Temple Road in Wilton.

Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox, along with several members of the FCSO, conducted the search and arrested Ayala.

The investigation is ongoing.
