A Waterboro woman was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly attempting to break into a house using a metal pipe.

York County sheriff’s deputies were called to Eon Way in Waterboro around 3 a.m. after a resident awakened to find an unknown woman banging at the back door with a metal pipe and trying to enter the home. The woman then got into a pickup truck parked in the driveway that was owned by the resident’s son, said Sheriff William King.

A Maine State Police trooper, who was nearby and monitoring sheriff’s office radio traffic, went to Eon Way and found the alleged intruder. Investigating deputies found marks on the back door of the house and a pipe in the bed of the pickup truck, King said.

Makenzie Hall, 25, was charged with burglary and refusing to submit to arrest or detention. Bail was set at $1,000 for the burglary charge and $300 for refusal to submit to arrest. She will be arraigned by video Friday.
