A North Anson woman was arrested on drug charges recently aftera drug search authorized by a warrant was carried out at her home, police said.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant Friday morning at the home of Jennifer and Russell Booker, at 36 Madison St., North Anson, according to a news release issued Tuesday from Sheriff Dale Lancaster. The search was conducted by Detective Lt. Carl E. Gottardi II , three sheriff’s detectives, five sheriff’s deputies and the Maine Drug Enforcement agent assigned to the sheriff’s office.

Jennifer Booker, 49, was charged with trafficking in heroin or fentanyl, class B, possession of Fentanyl, class D, and possession of cocaine, class D. Booker was issued a summons but was not arrested.

Lancaster said the raid was part of an ongoing investigation conducted over several months related to heroin and Fentanyl, cocaine and controlled pills allegedly being sold in and around Somerset County.

A small amount of cocaine was seized in the raid along with about 25 grams of powder believed to contain heroin/Fentanyl, drug-related paraphernalia, drug packaging material, digital scales, $750 in cash and drug-related documentation.

Lancaster said additional charges might be filed against Jennifer Booker and others, once the seized items are tested and weighed and the case is reviewed by the Somerset District Attorney’s Office.

Booker is scheduled to appear Aug. 8 at the Somerset County Unified Court.
