If Railroad Square Cinema moves to downtown Waterville, will there be 150 designated spots for our use as patrons? This year, other retirees and I have had the pleasure of viewing matinees for “The Darkest Hour,” “Victoria and Abdul,” “Goodbye Christopher Robin,” “Phantom Thread,” “Lady Bird,” “Dunkirk” and more, and there were at least 150 automobiles in the parking lot as we left the theater.

Parking at Railroad Square for we retired folks is perfect — no stairs or curbs to negotiate, a flat surface, and plenty of parking spaces. For those patrons using canes or walkers, the entrance is negotiable.

If a group of younger folks would like newer theaters downtown, great, but please leave Railroad Square as it is, the vintage look and wooden seats are fine. We seniors do patronize the theater and often eat downtown before or after a show.
