WINSLOW — The Nokomis baseball team scored twice in the first inning and used a combined three-hitter to hold off Winslow 2-1 in a Kennbec Valley Athletic Conference game shorted to six innings by rain.

Zach Hartsgrove had two hits for the Warriors (3-0) and drove in one run. Cody Marquis earned the win in a scoreless five-inning effort, with Josh Perry pitching the sixth for the save.

Ethan Lachance drove in a run for Winslow (0-4) in the sixth.

BRIDGEWAY 8, MT. ABRAM 3: Zach Belanger had three hits and Evan Bess drove in a pair of run to lead the Bandits to the Mountain Valley Conference win.

Bess earned the win, pitching five innings for Bridgeway (2-1). The Bandits broke open a close game with four runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Luke Kearring hit two triples and drove in a run for Mt. Abram (1-2).

RANGELEY 6, VALLEY 2: Cal Crosby struck out 10 to earn the win for Rangeley in East/West Conference baseball in Bingham.

Kyle Larochelle hit a pair of singles for Rangeley. Josh Brown struck out 11 in the loss for Valley. Joey Thomas had a pair of his for the Cavaliers.

SOFTBALL

VALLEY 8, RANGELEY 7: Jada Ward tripled and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Cavaliers to the East/West Conference win in Bingham.

Eighth grader Emily Collins earned the win in relief of Cylee Pratt.

Emily Eastlack had a pair of hits for Rangeley. Natasha Haley had two hits, including a triple, and scored two runs for the Lakers.

CARRABEC 8, OAK HILL 6: Sam LeBeau homered and drove in four runs to lead the Cobras to the Mountain Valley Conference victory. Bailey Dunphy also homered and finished with three RBIs and four runs scored for the Cobras (2-1).

Losing pitcher Sadie Waterman doubled for the Raiders.

GIRLS LACROSSE

FALMOUTH 15, MESSALONSKEE 11: Caitlin Camelio had five goals and three assists to lead the Yachtsmen to the win in Falmouth.

Jo Stucker and Eva Clement each had a hat trick for Falmouth (2-1). Hannah Duvinsky stopped 24 shots.

Ally Turner led the offense for Messalonskee (1-1) with five goals and two assists while Lauren Pickett added four goals and an assist. Sadie Colby made six saves.
