The archangel Michael is said to embody our yearning for life, hope, and truth. The Italian verb “avvenire” translates as “to happen, to come to pass.” So I find it intriguing to wonder, although the pairing is not quite perfect, whether we might not think of Michael Avenatti, attorney for Stormy Daniels, as a destroying angel come to confront and crush the malevolent creature who daily strives to lay waste to our national institutions and even the world itself.
Avenatti is going full bore after you-know-who, the ignorant, nihilistic degrader of language and morals who reveals daily that he is a very, very bad, and sad, and disgusting third-rate person who dishonestly lies and attacks all virtue bigly.
Many people are saying so, and with the steely-eyed Michael closing in on our dead-eyed POTUS, who seems to be in a growing tweet-storm panic and may at last be learning the truth of the saying, “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.”
May we not all hope that soon we may see dear POTUS fitted out in an ample orange jump suit that matches his hair? That would be a day to remember.
