BELGRADE — The Messalonskee girls tennis team remained unbeaten on the young season Monday.

The Eagles handed the Rams a 4-1 loss in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference matchup. Messalonskee is now 2-0 this season, while Cony is 1-2.

Lauren Bourque, Amanda Wiswell and Elena Guarino won singles matches for Messalonskee to secure the victory.

BASEBALL

MESSALONSKEE 6, MT. BLUE 5, 8 INN.: Ben Hellen singled home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in a KVAC game at Thomas College.

Messalonskee (3-1) scored three runs in the bototom seventh to force extra innings. Mitchell Couturier delivered the two-run single to tie the score at 5-5.

Caleb Young had a pair of doubles for Mt. Blue (0-4), which scored four runs in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead.

ERSKINE 7, WINSLOW 5: Chandler Moore pitched five-plus innings in relief to earn the KVAC B win for the Eagles in South China.

Erskine (2-1) scored six times in the fourth to erase an early five-run deficit.

Winslow dropped to 0-4.

EDWARD LITTLE 5, GARDINER 2: The unbeaten Eddies rallied against the Tiger bullpen to pull out the KVAC win in Auburn.

Austin Brown had two hits for Edward Little (5-0), and Grant Hartley pitched a three-hitter for the victory.

Logan Porter, Cole Lawrence and Alic Shorey each had hits for Gardiner (1-2).

HALL-DALE 6, MT. ABRAM 3: Logan Dupont struck out 10 in six innings and Alec Byron pitched the seventh to earn the save for the Bulldogs in Farmingdale.

Austin Stebbins and Jacob Brown each had two hits for Hall-Dale (3-0).

SOFTBALL

GARDINER 6, EDWARD LITTLE 2: Maggie Bell had three hits, including a triple, and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Tigers to the KVAC win in Auburn.

Jillian Bisson scattered three hits and struck out five for Gardiner (2-1).

Five walks by Edward Little pitchers hurt the Eddies (3-2).

OAK HILL 13, DIRIGO 1, 5 INN.: Kiera Young went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs to power the Raiders to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Wales.

Oak Hill (4-1) scored six times in the bottom of the fifth to finish the game off. Molly Flaherty and Sadie Waterman combined to toss a one-hitter with seven striekouts.

Katie Morse had a double for the only hit for Dirigo (1-2).

HALL-DALE 18, MT. ABRAM 3, 5 INN.: Bella Marino hammered a pair of doubles and the Bulldogs walloped the Roadrunners in an MVC game in Farmingdale.

Hall-Dale (2-1) scored seven runs in the first and six more in the third en route to the win. Grace Begin had three hits, and Sarah Benner and Kailey Roberts combined on a one-hitter.

Baylie McLaughlin had a single for Mt. Abram.

MESSALONSKEE 3, MT. BLUE 0: Alyssa Genness and Taylor Baker each drove in a run as part of a three-run second inning for the Eagles in a KVAC A win at Colby College.

Danielle Hall pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts for Messalonskee (3-1).

Sam Ellis and Ashley Wiles had the hits for Mt. Blue (3-1).

WINSLOW 8, ERSKINE 3: Paige Trask had four hits, including a double, and the Black Raiders overcame a slow start for the KVAC B win in South China.

Haley Ward had two hits and drove in two runs for Winslow (4-1), with Cassie Demers roping a pair of doubles.

Erskine (0-3) got a two-run single from Kayla Hodgkins as part of a three-run first inning.

BANGOR 8, CONY 7: Bangor broke a 4-4 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, then held on in the top of the seventh to take the KVAC A victory in Bangor.

Olivia Hoovler struck out seven en route to picking up the win, while Lindy Bezgembluk had two doubles for Bangor (1-3). Cambria Prophete, Lexi Cunningham and Gabrielle Gonzales also had two-baggers for the victors.

Gabby McGuire fanned two in seven innings for Cony (1-3), while Angelica Velazquez had a double for the Rams.

GIRLS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 23, MORSE 14: Ally Turner had nine goals, three assists and seven ground balls as the Eagles rolled to the KVAC win at Thomas College.

Lauren Pickett added six goals and two assists for Messalonskee (2-1), and Katelyn Smith had five goals and an assist.

Emily Martin led Morse (2-2) with five goals.

BOYS LACROSSE 

CONY 12, FREEPORT 9: Nick Robinson had three goals to lead the Rams to the win Saturday at Thomas College.

Nic Mills added two goals and an assist for the Rams (2-2).
