This year, all of us in Lincoln County are lucky to have an exceptional candidate for Maine State Senate. Laura Fortman and her family have lived in Nobleboro for more than 30 years. She grew up as the oldest child in a working-class family and went to college while she cared for her young child. Laura knows firsthand the struggles that face Mainers who are trying to work and raise their families.

Laura has spent her career focusing on ending sexual assault and domestic violence and expanding access to better jobs. She knows how to build coalitions and understands the importance of listening to a variety of opinions. As our senator, Laura will be accessible and available to hear our concerns and to make a real difference in the lives of hard-working Mainers in Lincoln County.

We need to elect leaders who will make state government work for us and who will return to the Maine tradition of caring for our neighbors. My 3-year-old grandson is counting on all of us to make sure his future is secure. Electing Laura Fortman is a great step in the right direction.
