READFIELD — Dan Garand had 10 strikeouts to lead Maranacook to a 9-1 win over Winslow in a Kennbec Valley Athletic Conference Class B baseball game Friday afternoon.

Aric Belanger had a double, a single and two RBIs for Maranacook (6-1) while Jarred Schmidt added two singles.

Isaac Targett and Bryce Gunzinger each had a single for Winslow (0-8).

MONMOUTH 5, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Avery Pomerleau struck out six batters and went the distance on the mound to lead the Mustangs to a Mountain Valley Conference win in Monmouth.

Pomerleau also added a triple at the plate. Corey Armstrong and Trevor Flanagan each had two hits for Monmouth (3-2).

Spruce Mountain falls to 2-3.

GARDINER 9, LINCOLN 1: The Tigers took advantage of eight Eagle errors on their way to the KVAC B win in Gardiner.

Alic Shorey had two singles for Gardiner (3-2).

Basil White led Lincoln (2-4) with two singles.

SOFTBALL

OAK HILL 15, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1, 5 innings: Abby Nadeau had a double, a single and three RBIs to lead the Raiders to the MVC win in Wales.

Kaitlyn Ridley added three singles and two RBIs for Oak Hill (6-1) while Mikala Buckmore chipped in with a triple, a single and an RBI.

Mountain Valley falls to 0-5.

GARDINER 6, LINCOLN 2: Maggie Bell, Meghan Meehan and Haley Brann all had two hits and drove in a run to lead the Tigers to the KVAC B win in Gardiner.

Jillian Bisson collected three hits and held the Eagles to just two runs on the mound for Gardiner (4-1).

Joy Hedrick had two hits for Lincoln (4-2).

EDWARD LITTLE 9, CONY 6: Emmy Lashua belted two home runs, including on the first pitch of the game, to lead the Eddies to the win in Augusta.

Hanna Smith added a home run, a double and two RBIs for Edward Little (4-3).

Gabby McGuire led Cony (1-4) with two singles and two RBIs while Alexis Couverette chipped in a double, a single and an RBI.

ERSKINE 19, MOUNT VIEW 2: Maddy Boynton and Kayla Hodgkins each doubled and tripled to lead the Eagles to the KVAC B win in Thorndike.

Lydia Boucher also doubled for Erskine, while Mackenzie Strout tripled for the Eagles. Erskine is 1-4, Mount View is 0-7.

HALL-DALE 9, WINTHROP 3: Isabella Marino doubled twice and Sarah Benner had three hits, leading the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Farmingdale.

Benner also picked up the win in the circle, while Riley Johnson had two hits for the Bulldogs (3-3).

Kate Perkins, Hannah Caprara and Sam Allen had the hits for Winthrop (1-3).

BOYS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 11, DEERING 5: Austin Pelletier was one of four Eagles with multiple-goal efforts in a win at Thomas College.

Pelletier finished with three goals for Messalonskee (4-1), while Dawson Charles, Colin Kinney and Alden Balboni all scored twice. Brennan Frances and Joshua Languet each added a goal in the win.

Omar Contreras scored twice for Deering (1-3).

GIRLS LACROSSE

GARDINER 18, LINCOLN 4: Hailee Lovely scored seven goals to spark the host Tigers to the win.

Mikayla Gardner and Evelyn Hinkley each had hat trick for Gardiner (1-1) while Alice Yokadaskas chipped in two goals. Bailey Poore and Olivia Eldridge each scored their first varsity goals as well. Willow Lavoie made seven saves.

Brinly Harrison scored twice for Lincoln (0-4) and Maddie Shaw made 13 saves.

BOOTHBAY 10, ERSKINE 6: Sydney Meader scored six goals to lead the Seahawks to the Class C victory in Boothbay.

Hannah Cola added three goals for Boothbay (3-1), while Chloe Arsenault had a goal and three assists.

Jordan Linscott scored four goals, while Joanna Linscott and Liz Sugg had a goal apiece.
