An Arundel man is being held without bail at the York County Jail in Alfred on a charge of domestic assault against his girlfriend.

York County Sheriff William King said in a statement that Robert Jordan, 33, of Portland Road, was arrested for punching and choking his girlfriend by deputies who were called to the 2600 block of Portland Road for a disturbance about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Jordan will be arraigned Monday by video.

Police said Jordan was not eligible for bail because of the charge.
