WINTHROP — Marie Dostie singled home Sam Allen with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Winthrop softball team past Dirigo 2-1 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Friday afternoon.

Dostie and Allen each had two hits for the Ramblers (9-3).

Layne Audet struck out 11 to earn the victory in the circle.

Dirigo dropped to 3-7.

CONY 4, ERSKINE 1: Cari Hopkins tossed a three-hitter and also had a double and a single at the plate to lead the Rams to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win in Augusta.

Carly Lettre added a double and an RBI for Cony (3-9) while Jaiden Bowley also doubled.

Erskine falls to 3-10.

BASEBALL

CONY 1, ERSKINE 0: Bobby Stolt drove in Riley Geyer for the game’s only run, giving the Rams the KVAC win in Augusta.

Kyle Douin earned the pitching win and also had two singles for Cony (3-9). Matt Wozniak added two singles as well.

Braden Soule had two singles for Erskine (4-9).

MONMOUTH 2, OAK HILL 1: The Mustangs scored the winning run on a passed ball in the second inning to earn the MVC win in Monmouth.

Tom Neal had two singles for Monmouth (7-4). Nick Dovinsky earned the win, allowing three hits in the complete-game effort.

Reid Cote had a double, a single and an RBI for Oak Hill (3-8).

WINTHROP 13, DIRIGO 7: Ryan Baird had three hits, including a double, and pitched the Ramblers to the MVC win in Winthrop.

Baird improved to 3-1 for Winthrop (8-4). Jackson Ladd, Cam Gaghan and Greg Fay each added two hits in the victory.

Chase Theberge had three of the seven hits for Dirigo (4-8).

MESSALONSKEE 4, LAWRENCE 0: Tyler Lewis scattered seven hits and struck out seven to lead the Eagles to the KVAC win in Fairfield.

Messalonskee (7-2) scored twice in the second and twice in the fourth, and Lewis made it stand up for his first win of the season on the mound.

Nick Grard had two hits for Lawrence (3-9).

HALL-DALE 10, TELSTAR 2: Cole Lockhart had three hits and three RBIs, leading the Bulldogs (12-0) to the MVC win in Farmingdale.

Lockhart had a double among the three hits, while Akira Warren (two RBIs) and Alec Byron (RBI) had two hits apiece. Warren went the distance for the win on the mound.

The Rebels fell to 2-7.

GIRLS LACROSSE

WINSLOW 9, ERSKINE 8: Silver Clukey scored three goals to lead the Black Raiders to a Class C win in Winslow.

Sarah Stevens scored two goals, while Sara Doughty, Savannah Joler, Alyssa Currie and Haley Grenier each added a goal for the Black Raiders (8-0).

Jordan Linscott led Erskine (3-3) with three goals, while Joanna Linscott and Alyssa Savage added two goals each. Isabella Libby tallied a score for Erskine.
