Mackenzie Kutniewski, a sixth-grader at Windsor Elementary School, has been named a runner up in the Listen to a Life Essay Contest, according to a news release from the Legacy Project, an international big-picture research, learning and social innovation group that works across generations.
Mackenzie wrote about her grandmother Kathy Alley. Mackenzie will be recognized in June at her school and will receive a specially autographed copy of “Dream,” (the award-winning book that inspired the contest theme), a framed award certificate from Frame USA featuring her winning essay; and a wooden keepsake mini chest.
Mackenzie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Duarte, of Windsor, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kutniewski, of Winthrop.
