A single-car crash in Windham shut down Route 302 late Thursday night.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the car hit a telephone pole near the Microtel Inn & Suites. A dispatcher said the road was completely closed in that area while Central Maine Power Co. responded.

The sheriff’s office reported that power was out between Whites Bridge Road and the Raymond line. Power has since been restored.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. the road reopened with two lanes shifted.

The crash was under investigation and the sheriff’s office did not provide any further details about the cause or the condition of the driver.
