Greetings fellow drivers of Maine. I’m sure by now that you’ve noticed the trees and shrubs are all leafing out. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of the dangers of driving without headlights on during the day.

Whenever you drive through a heavily shaded area, you will notice that people pulling out in front of you seem to be driving more recklessly. They don’t appear to be able to detect oncoming traffic. This is because they cannot see your vehicle coming without lights shining through the leafy areas on either side of their driveways.

So let’s turn on our headlights and help prevent collisions on Maine’s wooded roads. In addition, it’s important to remember to give proper space between vehicles. No one wants to be rear-ended. It contributes a lot to driver stress, being tail-gated.
