WATERVILLE — Inland Hospital’s Let’s Go! National Trails Day is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 2, at Quarry Road Trails, 300 Quarry Road.

Those who attend can explore the many trails located on 200 acres. Bring a bike to ride, go on a Let’s Go! StoryWalk, play Let’s Go! Corn Hole, and eat a healthy snack donated by the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation through Healthy Northern Kennebec.

Scheduled activities include Alfond Youth Center’s Kid’s Fun Run at 10:15 a.m. Artist Lisa Link will lead an interactive art and science walk with nature enthusiast Serena Sanborn, education and outreach coordinator from Common Street Arts at 11 a.m. Participants can create interactive photos along the trail incorporating nature elements.

Let’s Go! National Trails Day is Inland’s June Family Fun Series featured event. The series is a free program offering monthly events to connect families with local resources to stay active and healthy. Inland’s partners for this event are the Alfond Youth Center, Commons Street Arts, Healthy Northern Kennebec, Kennebec Messalonskee Trails, Quarry Road Trails, Elmina B. Sewall Foundation, Waterville Creates and Waterville Parks & Recreation.

Hospital volunteers will be on hand to stamp passports and register new participants for this free program, which links families to local resources, like Quarry Road Trails, for year-round, free and low-cost, active family fun.
