WISCASSET — A day of painting and drawing at historic Castle Tucker, overlooking the Sheepscot River and Wiscasset Harbor, is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 7, with artist Jennifer Linskey. Beginners are welcome. Bring own materials, lunch and a hat. The event will be held weather permitting.

Castle Tucker is at 2 Lee St. Admission is $20 for Historic New England members and $25 for nonmembers. Advance registration is required. Space is limited. Call 882-7169 or buy online at shop.historicnewengland.org.

Linskey brings more than 30 years of drawing and painting experience working from observation. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Smith College and a Master of Fine Arts in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking from Southern Illinois University. She studied with George Nick, Erin Palmer and Martha Armstrong. Her work has been shown at the Bowery Gallery in New York City, and been juried into shows by Lois Dodd, John Walker and William Bailey. Linskey has taught students at the college level, out of her Chicago studio, and in K-12 classrooms in Colorado and California.
