As a former member of the Waterville school board, it is clear that Waterville needs an advocate in Augusta. For years now, the state has not been paying Waterville what it owes for revenue sharing, nor is it funding the schools at its obligation of 55 percent. As a result, property taxes have increased to cover the cost of vital municipal services and education costs.
I’m supporting Charles T. Ferris for representative for House District 109 because I know he will fight for Waterville’s best interests in Augusta. As a professional, Tom understands how to negotiate, while standing firm on behalf of those he represents.
In Ferris we will have a strong voice in Augusta who will demand the state live up to its obligations, so we can take the burden off our property taxpayers and our schools.
