I endorse Karen Kusiak for Senate District 16 in the June 12 primary. Karen has shown lifelong passion for education and public service — Karen has been a classroom teacher, teacher educator, special education director, and a member of the SAD 49 school board. She also served as a legislator representing House District 108. Karen received a doctorate in education in 2011 from the University of Maine.

Karen will bring a rich and positive experience in local and state government, a deep and broad understanding of the importance of education to Maine and the rest of the world facing rapidly changing economic conditions and new ways of working. Karen is compassionate, and profoundly civil in her political discourse. She thrives on the long hours of mounting a campaign; she will work tirelessly, efficiently and intelligently for the people of District 16.
