All of us Democrats want to pick a candidate for governor who can win in November. The Democratic playbook for the last 20 years is not working. Democrats with bold ideas are winning primaries and special elections around the country.
Betsy Sweet is the candidate for governor who can win in November and here’s why:
• She has bold proposals, like Medicare for All, and free college tuition for two years if you spend a year in local public service.
• Betsy has excited young people about voting like Barack Obama did. This month she won the Young Democrats gubernatorial poll with 65 percent of the vote.
• Sweet has proved she can raise the money needed for a tough race. She was the top money raiser last reporting period and has more money on hand than any other candidate.
That’s why I’m ranking Betsy No. 1 on my ballot on June 12.
