Whitefield Library, located at the Arlington Grange, at 3 Arlington Lane in Whitefield, will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, to raise money for the purchase of new books.

The event will feature music by Well Seasoned, featuring the foursome of Mid Coast musicians, Pixie Lauer, Dan Townsend, Del Merritt and Judy Nielsen. The day also will include food, games, crafts for the children, face painting, silent auction, book sale, 50/50 raffle, angel and fairy card reading and more.

The library has been operating since last July and is now open 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays, and beginning June 16, every Wednesday and Saturday until September. Because of the donation of hundreds of books and hundreds of volunteer hours, library organizers hope to expand and provide the community with more than a place to pick up a good book and chat with a friend.
