Litchfield residents are invited to a public forum at 7 p.m. Thursday night to learn about three developments that are affecting the town’s taxpayers.

The forum will be held at the Litchfield Fire Department at 2407 Hallowell Road.

Organizers will discuss the proposed $19.17 million Regional School Unit 4 budget, which will be going to a referendum vote on Tuesday, and the funding formula in the district that encompasses Litchfield, Wales and Sabattus.

Litchfield selectmen have passed a resolution opposing the budget proposal.

Officials also will discuss two related proposals, a revaluation of the town’s properties and a $100,000 reduction in the town’s road budget, which would help pay for that revaluation.

The meeting also will offer any candidates for office who are present a chance to talk about their positions.
