The Waterville Opera House will present “Seussical the Musical” June 15-24 at its venue at 1 Common St. in Waterville.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. June 15, 16 and 22 and at 2 p.m. June 17, 23 and 24.

The production will featuring some of the most popular characters and situations found in Dr. Seuss’ books set to song. This musical adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ imagination features Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, Yertle the Turtle, Thing 1 and Thing 2 — coming to life on the stage in song and dance.

In Seussical, The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, a courageous yet silly elephant who faces ridicule, danger, being kidnapped, and going on trial while trying to protect his new friends Jojo and the lovable but tiny Whos. While Horton has quite a few challenges to solve, ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community emerge triumphant.

Blais; Gertrude McFuzz, Emily Goulette; Mayzie La Bird, Katie Libold; Sour Kangaroo, Shannon Thurston; General Schmitz, Fred Liebfried; The Wickersham Brothers, Daniel Hollander, Sharon Hood, Isaac Tardy, Joshua Veilleux; The Bird Girls, Emily Cates, Jordan Clatchey, Isabelle Grignon; The Mayor, Greg Wiers; The Mayor’s Wife, Dawn Butler Wiers; Thing 1, Julianna Gudaitis; Thing 2, Julia Cooke; and Yertle the Turtle, Jeralyn Shattuck; and Vlad/ The Grinch, Bart Shattuck.

The ensemble includes: Tabyr Briggs, Michael Bryan, Anderson Buck, Joe Cothen, Corrina Francose, Richard Haviland, Paul Herard, Isavel Lux Soc, Lyric Mae Laffin, Andre Morin, Sarah O’Hara, Lydia Schofield, Teresa Van Deventer and Kate Walters.

Production team includes: Director Debra Susi, Musical Director Rebecca Caron, Choreographer Adam P. Blais, Scenic/Lighting Designer Chad Lefebvre, Costume Designer Maine Central Institute Technical Theatre and Costume Design Class, Sound Designer Jayson Murray and Technical Director Tony Gerow.

Tickets cost $24 for adults, $22 for students/seniors, $49 family pack in second balcony, group discounts are available.
