As the former chair of the Waterville Democratic Committee, I’m proud to support Charles Tom Ferris for House District 109.

Over the years I’ve found that Tom is a genuine, gentle soul who wants to improve the lives of everyone he meets. Tom approaches this ambition with compassion and veracity — he can be a gentle guiding voice or a lion unafraid to tell truth to power.

It is the latter that has earned Tom my vote. At a time when many locally and at the State House shirk away from confrontation, he is not a man afraid of his Democratic values or afraid to fight for them.

This tenacity is severely lacking in Augusta. We don’t need a representative who won’t even comment on the most controversial issue in town; we need Charles Tom Ferris, who has never shied away from fighting for the values we hold as Democrats.
