Bob Carlton, a Republican candidate for Franklin County commissioner in District 3, has conceded the primary race to incumbent Commissioner Clyde Barker.

Final results of the race were not available Thursday from the county clerk’s office, Franklin County Finance Manager Vickie Braley said.

However, Carlton said in a phone interview he has conceded the race.

Lois Barker, Clyde Barker’s wife, said her husband won the primary but wanted to postpone commenting until official results were available.

Barker currently does not face an opponent in the November election.
