Shame on you for bringing up a man’s past criminal record (“Norridgewock farmer found dead under machine had kidnapping conviction,” June 1). It’s despicable — I myself have a criminal record and I was in prison with Frank Smith. He was the most kind and caring individual you would’ve ever met — he would give the very shirt off his back to someone who needed it.

I was locked up from 2012 to 2016; I was Francis Smith’s roommate for five years. What he did in 2012 should not have been printed in the article about his death.

Rest in peace, Frank. His death made news around the U.S. I’m very dissappointed in the newspaper.
