WATERVILLE — Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce held its annual Chamber Golf Classic on June 4 at the Waterville Country Club. Despite the spring rain, 33 teams showed to swing their clubs.

The Golf Classic is open to all chamber members and non-chamber members. It is the area’s most prize-laden tournament including a chance to win $1,000,000, according to a news release from the chamber. The two major sponsors of this event are Damon’s Beverage & Redemption and Maine State Credit Union.

The winners of gross are Pine Tree Cellular, Veilleux’s Funeral Home and Gordon Construction all tying in first place. Net first place is Maine Technology Group, second place is Labun’s Flooring, and third place is Nicolson, Michaud & Co. Closest-to-pin include Rick Forsley of Choice Investments; Lennie Langlais of Central Maine Motors Auto Group; Mike Fortin of Fortin’s Home Furnishings and Scott Nielsen of Sheridan Corp. Men’s longest drive went to Joshua Herlihy of Kennebec Federal Savings Bank and Nancy Karter had the women’s longest drive. Jason Bartlett took straightest drive and Zimba Company had the highest team score.
