I would expect anyone caught entering Canada illegally from the U.S. would be treated the same as on our porous southern border. If we cross illegally into Canada, we too are exposed to arrest and the effects of Canadian law.
Any children involved, either way, would be separated from the illegal crosser, parent or not, just as they would be separated from any criminal U.S. citizen, in the U.S., who goes to jail.
Shame on parents exposing their children to this, when they could stay in Mexico — where they at least speak the language — and if need be, apply for legal immigration or sanctuary. They come to our border because our “benefits” are greater.
