A Rangeley man was sentenced Friday to two years in prison for distribution of fentanyl.

Steven Butler, 25, was sentenced in federal court in Bangor by U.S. District Chief Judge Nancy Torresen. Butler was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

According to court records, Butler distributed fentanyl three times between March and June 2017 to a confidential informant in Rangeley.

Butler pleaded guilty to the charge in January.
