The American Chestnut seedlings have arrived at the Viles Arboretum Visitor’s Center, 153 Hospital St., in Augusta. The plants can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the center.
Many of the seedlings are reserved for those who ordered them, however there is a limited supply beyond those that are reserved. Some seedlings will be available during the center’s American Chestnut Celebration set for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7.
Those interested in a tree for $15, and didn’t reserve one, can call the center at 626-7989.
