I wish to comment about an article that was published on June 13 about three men receiving sentences for drug charges (“Man pleads guilty to leading drug ring from Massachusetts to central Maine”).

First, Jaime Brea receives a sentence of 30 months for drug conspiracy, out of eight years suspended, and three years probation. What a slap to the residents not only of Augusta but the entire state of Maine.

He should have gotten a harsher sentence. The district attorney is not being tough on crime. The other two people mentioned in the article also received light sentences for their crimes.

Residents need to let the district attorney know she has to be tougher on crime; if she does not, then vote her out and get someone who will.
