Sen. Susan Collins is afraid that with a new conservative judge on the Supreme Court, the Roe v. Wade decision might be reversed. She has called that decision precedent.
Over the years the Supreme Court has reversed many earlier decisions, among them Brown v. Board of Education and Plessey v. Ferguson. I hope Sen. Collins would agree that those were very good reversals.
It should also be noted that if the Roe decision is overturned, abortion will still be legal in this country. It will just be a state issue instead of a federal issue as it always should have been.
