WATERVILLE — Part of a garage and its contents were destroyed in a fire at 27 Oak St. Friday afternoon, according to the city fire chief.
The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. and flames and smoke were showing when firefighters arrived at the scene, said Waterville Fire Chief Shawn Esler.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and it has been ruled accidental, Esler said.
The property is owned by Steve Nye and is insured.
Fifteen firefighters from Waterville responded and Waterville police also assisted in shutting down the road and making sure any occupants of the garage were safe.
No injuries were reported.
