It has been about two weeks since the president committed treason in Helsinki, and what have our elected officials done about it? Donald Trump’s feeble attempts at backpedaling his statements have been completely transparent, and he, and anyone who stands with him, needs to be held accountable.

In the meantime I urge Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King and my representative, Bruce Poliquin, to speak against the ongoing crisis at the border where children have still not been reunited with their families. There doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency to reunite these families despite the order from the courts.

Also, with the president’s former campaign chairman on criminal trial, not to mention the Mueller investigation, there should be no talks or confirmation hearings heard on Brett Kavanaugh joining the Supreme Court. It is laughable for anyone to still believe that this administration deserves to nominate a lifetime appointee to the court given the accusations and uncertainties leveled against them.

I demand my elected officials to continue to hold this president accountable by seeking impeachment, reunite the families that have been separated and oppose Kavanaugh’s appointment.
